18th Plant Health Symposium

Just one year before the event begins, the College of Agricultural Technical Engineers of Western Andalusia (COITAND) is already working on its organization, with new approaches to addressing the most important issues for plant health. In this new edition, the program has been strengthened to be more dynamic, technical and comprehensive, addressing in depth all aspects related to plant health from a multidisciplinary perspective , and giving a voice to all links in the agri-food chain. Food security , affordable access to healthy, high-quality food , and ensuring the competitive advantage of food produced in Europe will be some of the main themes of the next edition. Furthermore, the need to expedite the process for obtaining new, more sustainable tools, but in a faster and more efficient manner, will be emphasized to European and international bodies. Madrid Fusión is preparing the most global edition in its history

Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España will celebrate its 24th edition from January 26th to 28th under the motto "The customer takes the lead," reflecting a new gastronomic reality in which diners are no longer passive but have become informed, demanding customers with their own opinions. This will be the most international edition to date, with more foreign than Spanish chefs on the main stage. The initial list of speakers confirms the global scope of the congress and includes Mauro Uliassi, Bas van Kranen, Bruno Verjús, Akrame Benallal, Pía León, Gil Fernandes, Chele González, Diego Rossi, Vicky Cheng, Giuseppe Iannotti, Tomohiko Kuchiiwa, Santiago Muñoz, and Mano Thevar—chefs who represent a cuisine that no longer just cooks: it listens. Cajamar celebrates the 5th edition of the Wefood Forum: innovation, artificial intelligence, and sustainability for the food industry of the future.

On November 4, 2025 , Cajamar will hold a benchmark meeting for agri-food industry professionals seeking to anticipate sector trends and learn about the innovation strategies that are transforming production, food safety, and sustainability at the Institutional Winery of Granja La Grajera, in La Rioja. In this new edition, the Forum will delve into the major challenges facing the food sector of the future: how to respond to increasingly demanding consumers, ensure resource-efficient production, and feed a growing global population , without sacrificing quality, traceability, and environmental commitment. The event will be structured around four thematic sections — Food and Health, Food Quality and Safety 4.0, Innovation with Impact, and Trends in the Wine Sector —and will feature the participation of executives from leading companies, researchers from technology centers, and experts in agri-food innovation . The session will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the reception of attendees , followed by the institutional welcome by Noemí Manzanos Martínez , Regional Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment, and José Antonio Montero López , Regional Director of Cajamar Center. At 9:45 a.m. , Carlos Picazo , co-founder and professor of data science and artificial intelligence at MIOTI , will offer the keynote address “Artificial Intelligence and Agri-Food Innovation,” a cross-cutting presentation that will explore the potential of AI as a driver of transformation and competitiveness in the food industry. Block I: Food and Health (10:15 a.m.) will be moderated by Antoni Caimari (EURECAT) and will feature Rebeca Peñalva (Natur Pharma) and Alejandro González (Pascual) , who will present cases of innovation in functional and healthy products. After the coffee break (11:00 a.m.), Block II: Food Quality and Safety 4.0 will address digitalization and new control tools with the participation of María José Sáiz (CNTA) and Javier Pastor (Martínez Somalo) . Block III: Success stories (12:00 p.m.) will bring together inspiring experiences moderated by Patricia Larráyoz (EATEX) , with interventions by Pablo Franco (DOCa.
